Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know my child needs speech therapy services?
You are your child’s best advocate. If you have concerns discuss them with your pediatrician. Referring to our resources for more information on age appropriate speech-language skills will also help you in determining the need. We would also love to talk to you about your concerns and how we can collaboratively increase functional communication.
Why pay for private speech therapy in addition to my child receiving services in the school?
We are confident your child’s school-based SLP is doing an amazing job with your child. However, school based therapy typically takes place in a group setting with 3-5 other kids. At Pediatric Therapy On The Go, our SLP’s are able to focus solely on your child and their individualized goals giving them our full attention.
At this time, Pediatric Therapy On The Go accepts Georgia Medicaid, CareSource, Amerigroup, PeachState, Aetna, BCBS, and United Healthcare. We also offer a private pay option. We offer families documentation to submit for insurance reimbursement upon request. For more information and guidance please use the Out of Network Reimbursement document.
Do you accept insurance?
What is your attendance and cancellation policy?
We understand emergencies happen, people get sick, and sometimes life happens! However, consistency is key in your child’s progress with speech therapy. As per our cancellation policy, every client is allowed a two cancellations without 24-hour notice per year. After that, you will be charged a $35 fee for treatment and $75 fee for evaluation for cancelling without 24-hour notice.
Why is my credit card information required to schedule an appointment?
Your credit card information is required as a place holder for your evaluation or treatment session. It will ONLY be charged in the event of a no call, no show, late cancellation, or request from client upon receiving services.
How often and long will my child need speech therapy?
Every child is different! Following the evaluation, our SLPs will be able to discuss our recommendation for frequency and amount of therapy. Children vary from needing therapy for 6 months to longer. It is difficult for us to determine how quickly a child will progress; however, consistency and home practice are key factors in their progress.
